During this unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic, Mary's Shelter in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is undertaking our most daunting mission yet ... and we're inviting you — from the safety and comfort of your own home — to play a pivotal role in the lives of vulnerable pregnant women and their children.
Sadly, we were forced to cancel our annual in-person Soirée, which accounts for 52% of our annual budget. And yet, because of rising unemployment, domestic violence, and fear that is gripping pregnant mothers, demand for housing is only growing. But Mary’s Shelter is rising to the challenge: creatively problem-solving, trusting in God and spreading His message of hope to anyone who comes to us seeking assistance.
While many shelters are making the difficult decision to close their doors to new residents ... we are determined to fill the gap and meet the need.
We are booking hotel rooms and helping desperate pregnant mothers with rent. We are providing supplies, partnering with local restaurants, and connecting women to local resources. We are listening compassionately to their difficult stories and virtually holding their hands through what is, perhaps, the greatest crisis of their lives.
We are here for them ... and we are trusting that we will have the means to serve them for a long time. With a steadfast hope, we are trusting that you will help support this life-saving mission.
Desperate times call for creative solutions, so we are holding this online Virtual Soirée where we'll share how — in spite of the coronavirus challenges — we have regrouped, adapted, and are helping more mothers and children than ever before.
Join us, and spread the word to everyone you can!

IMPORTANT: Due to COVID-19 concerns, and the increased demand for housing for pregnant mothers and their children, we had to quickly convert our in-person Soirée into an online event. This annual fundraiser is mission-critical to our lifesaving work. Had the event been canceled, it would have been devastating to our ability to help mothers and save babies. To help in this crucial time, please join this online event (and help to spread the word!) If you have a computer or mobile device and an Internet connection, you can easily join us ...
